The Chaotic Earth and its Effects Today

The Chaotic Earth and its Effects Today

I. The original perfect earth-- Genesis 1:1; Isaiah 45:18

II. The chaotic earth. Genesis 1:2

     A. Jeremiah 4:23-26- The "kata-bole"-- the casting down of the first world order.

     B. Ezekiel 28:12-19-- the anointed cherub that covereth

     C. Satan and a host of angelic beings were in charge of the original earth. Ezekiel 28:14-17

     D. Satan's Fall-- Isaiah 14:12-16; Luke 10:18

The rebellion of the angelic host- one-third of the angels. (Rev. 12:4) These were excluded from     heaven and took up their abode in the heavenlies. Satan is the "prince of the power of the air." (Ephesians 2:2) These fallen angels became the angelic beings of Ephesians 6:12-18- principalities, powers (dominion), rulers of darkness, spiritual wickedness in high places.

Paul says this is our warfare. (2 Corinthians 10:3-5)

This is a satanic system which functions in a spiritual sphere of individuals, nations, cults, false religions motivating them to rebel against God and His Word. 2 Corinthians 4:4- "whose minds the god of this world has blinded, who do not believe, lest the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine on them."

     E. Possibly human beings on the original earth and at Satan's fall. (These beings were not created in the image of God like the Adam creation.) They were destroyed. Their disembodied spirits became demons, and their efforts to re- embody themselves in human beings was evident in the time of Christ. (Luke 8:26-35; Luke 11:24-26; Matthew 12:43-45)

     F. Demons are not fallen angels.

          1. Fallen angels are free; while demons are confined in the Bottomless Pit and are given liberty as it suits God's purposes. (Rev. 9:1-21) They can wander about and try to inhabit human bodies, and are under the authority of Satan.

          2. Angels have their own spirit bodies.

          3. Angels do not seek to possess human bodies.

          4. Demons are disembodied spirits and are constantly seeking to possess human beings.

          5. Demons desire to stay in certain localities. They are territorial and hate dry places.

          6. The fact that they want to re-embody themselves is looked upon as evidence that they once possessed bodies similar to humans.

     G. Fallen angels and demons are to be distinguished from the angels in chains described in 2 Peter 2:4 and Jude 6-7. These angels are bound in the Abode of Tartarus.

     H. Peter also alludes to the chaotic earth in 2 Peter 3:5-6. This was the earth's baptism with water. It will later be baptized with fire. (2 Peter 3:10)

     I. Demons are unclean spirits that are intelligent. They can speak and they can hear. (Luke 4:31-37)

          1. Talked to Jesus.

          2. Knew Jesus.

          3. Knew Jesus had the power to destroy them.

          4. Knew that Jesus was the "Holy One of God."

          5. They have supernatural strength.

     J. Demons now know the authority of the believer when the believer uses the name of Jesus in faith. The Holy Spirit and power demonstrate to demon forces the authority in THAT NAME. (Acts 19:15; Mark 16:17)

KNOW YOUR ENEMY. BE SOBER- 1 Peter 5:8-10.

Spiritual weapons of warfare:

2. Power of Jesus name

3. Word of God

4. Blood of Jesus

5. Individually power of the Holy Spirit within, upon, and around

6. Angels on assignment. Hebrews 1:14
