Tapping Into God's Miraculous Power

Tapping Into God's Miraculous Power

There are very specific laws and principles which govern the operation of the power of God. As we discussed earlier, it is faith that activates the power of God for supernatural healing.

We could say faith is like a switch that turns on the power of God. Faith literally moves the hand of God. Hebrews 11:6 says, "But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that he is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him."

I have heard it said many times that God is not so much moved by our needs and circumstances as He is moved by our faith.

Therefore, we must make a demand on our faith and connect with God for our needs to be met.

So, if you become ill, draw closer to God and activate your faith. This is so important: Be tenacious about your healing and never give in or give up. Stand unwaveringly on God's Word for your healing.

Know this: The healing power of God is operating all around you at all times and is always available to those who choose to tap into it by faith.

In a practical sense, we could use electricity as an example. Electricity has always been in the earth, even though no one could see it. The principles to set this source of energy into motion have always been available. Even though we cannot physically see electrical power working, when we plug into it, we see the effects. The same kind of principle applies to God's healing power as it operates through the Spirit of God.

Allow me to give you a Scriptural example of this principle in action. Luke 5:17-26 tells the story of a paralyzed man. "Now it happened on a certain day, as He (Jesus) was teaching, that there were Pharisees and teachers of the law sitting by, who had come out of every town of Galilee, Judea and Jerusalem. And the power of the Lord was present to heal them. Then behold, men brought on a bed a man who was paralyzed, whom they sought to bring in and lay before Him. And when they could not find how they might bring him in, because of the crowd, they went up on the housetop and let him down with his bed through the tiling into the midst before Jesus. When He (Jesus) saw their faith, He said to him, 'Man, your sins are forgiven you.' And the scribes and the Pharisees began to reason, saying, 'Who is this who speaks blasphemies? Who can forgive sins but God alone?' But when Jesus perceived their thoughts, He answered and said to them, 'Why are you reasoning in your hearts? Which is easier to say, 'Your sins are forgiven you,' or to say, 'Rise up and walk'? But that you may know that the Son of Man has power on earth to forgive sins' -- He said to the man who was paralyzed, 'I say to you, arise, take up your bed, and go to your house.' Immediately he rose up before them, took up what he had been lying on, and departed to his own house, glorifying God. And they were all amazed, and they glorified God and were filled with fear, saying, 'We have seen strange things today!'"

Please take notice of Verse 17 which says, "And the power of the Lord was present to heal them." The healing power of God was there waiting to be manifested.

This story tells us that some men brought their paralyzed friend to Jesus to be healed. The house where Jesus was ministering was so crowded with people that the men carried their friend up to the rooftop and lowered him down through a hole they had made by removing some tiles on the roof.

"And when Jesus saw their faith..." You see, it was the tenacious, corporate faith of the friends of the paralyzed man that actually tapped into the healing power of God that day.

We are not told whether the paralyzed man had any faith or not. But his friends were not going to give up. They had faith in the healing power of Jesus and they would not be denied.

Know this: The healing, restoring, delivering, re-creating power of God was already at work in that room! All they needed to do was to get close to the Power Source (Jesus) and plug into that miraculous, healing power.

Luke 5:20 says, "When He (Jesus) saw their faith, He said to him, 'Man, your sins are forgiven you.'

Then Jesus said to the paralyzed man in Luke 5:24, "I say to you, arise, take up your bed, and go to your house." Verse 25 says, "Immediately he rose up before them, took up what he had been lying on, and departed to his own house, glorifying God."

Others who were there that day could have been healed if they would have tapped into the healing power of the Son of God. The problem was they were just too religious and too prideful to receive from God.

We still see this today. Some church people are just too steeped in religious tradition to receive anything from God. Religious tradition and pride hinders many people from receiving the promises of God.

When we submit ourselves to the study of the healing ministry of Jesus in the Word of God, we learn some things about the operation of the Spirit of God.

First of all, we discover that some healings are immediate and others are a more gradual, progressive process.

It appears that the time frame for healing is determined by two important factors:

FACTOR #1-- The degree of faith which activates the healing.

Some people who benefited from Jesus' earthly healing ministry were said to have "great faith." They were tenacious, persistent and refused to let go. These included the Centurion, the Syro-Phoenician woman and the woman with the issue of blood.

FACTOR #2-- The amount of healing power administered to the person was administered according to their faith.

How strong was the desire for healing and how much draw was there on the Power Source (Jesus)?

The woman with the issue of blood in Mark 5:25-34 is an excellent example of a person coming to Jesus with tenacious faith. "Now a certain woman had a flow of blood for twelve years, and had suffered many things from many physicians. She had spent all that she had and was no better, but rather grew worse. When she heard about Jesus, she came behind Him in the crowd and touched His garment. For she said, 'If only I may touch His clothes, I shall be made well.' Immediately the fountain of her blood was dried up, and she felt in her body that she was healed of ther affliction. And Jesus, immediately knowing in Himself that power had gone out of Him, turned around in the crowd and said, 'Who touched My clothes?' But His disciples said to Him, 'You see the multitude thronging You, and You say, 'Who touched Me?' And he looked around to see her who had done this thing. But the woman, fearing and trembling, knowing what had happened to her, came and fell down before Him and told Him the whole truth. And He said to her, 'Daughter, your faith has made you well. Go in peace, and be healed of your affliction.'"

Let's look more closely at Verses 28 and 30. Verse 28 says, "If only I may touch His clothes, I shall be made whole." Verse 30 says, "And Jesus, knowing in Himself that power had gone out of Him..."

You see, the woman's faith had made a demand on His healing power and the power that went out from Jesus into the woman healed her instantly.

What did Jesus say in Verse 34? "Daughter, your faith has made you well," We see here that faith determined the ourcome of the woman's condition.

From this Scriptural example, we find that the healing power or the healing anointing is tangible and transmittable. Jesus literally felt the power leave him and the woman felt the power heal her, so the power is tangible and it can be transmitted. The healing power of God can be felt and experienced.

The healing power can be transmitted by a touch or by the laying on of hands. This healing pwer can also be transmitted by anointed cloths or by anointing oil.

James 5:14-15 says we are to anoint the sick with oil and pray the prayer of faith for healing. This is a type of the Holy Spirit anointing. The healing power of God is transmitted to the recipient.

This is very important: When the uncompromising Word of God is preached and the principles of divine healing are taught, the healing power of God will always manifest itself.

Proverbs 4:20-22 says, "My son, give attention to my words, incline your ear to my sayings. Do not let them depart from your eyes; keep them in the midst of your heart; for they are life (medicine) to those who find them, and health to all their flesh.

Allow the Word of God to be the anchor of your faith and tap into God's almighty power when you need healing. Remember, healing depends more on you than on God.

God is always waiting for us to come in faith and tap into His mighty, healing power.
