Head Knowledge Faith

Head Knowledge Faith

May 2, 2017

In order for the Word of God to work successfully, we must be sure we’re following God’s instructions in His Word. Many times people are deceived because they only attempt to stand on the Word and believe God for His healing and deliverance. They stand on the right scriptures, but the scriptures are not implanted in their heart. You can have head knowledge, but the heart and Spirit Man on the inside has not grasped what the Word is really saying. This leads to subtle “doubt” which can steal the blessing of God. That’s why Jesus said Mark 11:23, “I say to you whoever says to this mountain [circumstance], ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says.” Verse 24 says, “Whatever things you ask for when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them.”

What is the remedy for “Head Knowledge Faith?”

1)      Read the Word

2)      Study the Word

3)      Meditate on the Word

4)      Confess the Word

5)      Act on the Word

Keep on doing it day in and day out till the Word of God becomes a part of your inner man (spirit). It takes time and work to believe what God says when you are facing the obstacles of life. It is so important to make sure the Word goes from the mental realm to your heart.

It has been said that the differences between victory and defeat in the Christian life is the eighteen inches between your head and your heart. Ask yourself, “Do I just mentally agree with the Word and have a casual knowledge or is the Word firmly planted into my heart?” The answer to that question determines whether or not the Word will work for you. Isaiah the prophet says, “The people honor me with their lips, but their heart is far from me.”

Jesus said as we live in the world, problems are going to come. John 16:33, “But He overcame the world and so do we by faith in Him and His Word. 1 John 5:4-5 says that as a believer we can face and overcome anything the devil brings our way. 1 John 4:4, “So this is all the more reason to do what God said: ‘Go to the Word.’” Take it, believe it, and then watch the Word go into action. Jeremiah 1:12, “God watches over Hos word to perform it.” Isaiah 55:11. “God has sent His Word and it will accomplish what He sent it to do and it will not return to Him empty but it will do what it was sent to do.” I like Psalm 107:20, “God sent His Word and healed them and delivered them from their destructions.” God’s Word contains His healing power. You can confess, “His Word is working in me now. He sent His Word and healed me.” Psalm 103:1-5, “Bless the Lord, O my soul, and all His benefits who forgives all of my iniquities and heals all my diseases.”

Proverbs 17:22, “A merry heart does good like medicine, but a broken spirit dries up the bones.” Dr. Oral Roberts who was one of the greatest healing evangelists of all time said this, “If you need healing for your body, do these six things:

1)      Look to Jesus as a life source, delightfully to bless and heal you. Take Jesus as your healer.

2)      Believe that God’s abundant life is for you and that you may have it by believing and continuing to believe it is for you. John 10:10

3)      Know that it is God’s will to heal not only others, but also you. 3 John 2, “healing is in the atonement.” Isaiah 53:47, “Therefore it includes all.”

4)      Remember that healing begins within your spirit man. You reach and communicate with God through your spirit. God reaches you through your inner man. God reaches down and heals within. This is called the Healing Anointment. It is tangible and can be felt and experienced. Mark 5:30-34, “Knowing what had happened to her, came and fell down before Him and told Him the whole truth. ‘Your faith has made you whole.’” You see, she had “heart faith,” not just head knowledge.

5)      Know that the only way you can overcome “fear” is through your faith in God. 1 John 4:18, “Perfect love casts out fear…”

6)      Use a point of contact for the release of your faith. Laying on of hands, doctor visits, medicine. The point of contact is the first step in your healing.

Confession: I renew my mind with the word pf God and think God’s thoughts. His Word is planted and rooted deep inside my heart. Colossians 2:6-7, “Rooted and built up in Him and established in the faith…”

No matter what obstacle I face, I believe God’s Word is true and it will work to change my life and conform me into the “Image of Christ.” Psalm 119:165, “Great peace have those who love your law, and nothing causes them to stumble.”

Amen!
