Free from Guilt and Condemnation

Many people, and especially Christians, have fallen short of the glory of God. It may be in the area of service to God or when some sin seems to be prevalent in their lives. Finding no way to conquer it, they live under a constant cloud of guilt and condemnation.

The Bible teaches us that when God forgives our sins, He removes them as far as the east is from the west (Isaiah 43:25-26).

God says, "Plead your case before Me and you will be acquitted (or justified)."

I love this Scripture. It says God remembers your sins NO MORE!!

He forgave you of your sin, the sin of Adam and also He forgave your sins - which is missing the mark.

God does not just cover your sins, but He removes them or remits them. Matthew 26:28 - remission. This word means blots them out.

The Old Testament sacrifice could only "atone" for sin - "cover over them." But the Blood of Jesus completely removes them as though they never even happened.

If God forgives, removes and forgets your sins, your obligation is also to forget them. If God forgives you, you must forgive yourself.

Romans 14:22 says, "Happy is the person who does not condemn themselves. . ."

The devil will always try to bring up past sins and try to get you into a guilt-conscientiousness. He tries to make you feel unworthy of what God is doing in your life. He will try to get you to have a "self-pity" or "poor me" attitude.

But you must reject this and know that you are forgiven and you are worthy. Ephesians 2:10 says, you were "created in His workmanship for good works."

You need to see yourself the way God sees you. When He looks at you, He sees you through the Blood of Jesus. He sees the finished product.

We can live above guilt and condemnation. You must get knowledge of God's Word and grow spiritually. Hosea 4:6 says people are destroyed for lack of knowledge, because they reject the knowledge of God's Word.

We must have knowledge and understanding of what our inheritance is in Christ Jesus. We need to know how to pray and receive what rightly belongs to us in Christ Jesus; if not, we can be destroyed by the enemy.

Solomon said, "Through knowledge shall the just be delivered" (Proverbs 11:9).

Isaiah 5:13 says, "My people have gone into captivity because they have no knowledge."

People live in captivity because they do not have knowledge of how to be set free.

You see, you must understand that guilt and condemnation does not have to reign over you.

John 8:32 says, "You shall know the truth and the truth (God's Word) shall make you free."

There is a place we can come to in Christ Jesus where there is no condemnation, and it comes through knowledge. Your knowledge must be God's Word and what the Holy Spirit can do in your life and, what you do in relation to the Holy Spirit.

Galations 5:16-17 tells us that the spirit man (the real you, the born again spirit) and flesh; war against each other.

If you walk in the spirit, you will not fulfill the lust of the flesh.

Now let's go to Romans 8:1-2. Romans 8 is called the "Victory Chapter." The Holy Spirit is mentioned nineteen times in Chapter 8 of Romans. "There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit."

When you are walking in the Spirit and living in the spirit realm, you will not fulfill the dictates of the flesh and you will not come under any guilt and condemnation.

Know this: There is nothing good that dwells in the works of the flesh.

Know that God has already "delivered you from the power of darkness and transferred you into the kingdom of His Son of love" (Colossians 1:13-14). And you have forgiveness of sin through His Blood.

The Apostle Paul goes on to say in Colossians 2:6-7, "as you have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him." Verse 7 says, "Being rooted and built up in Him and established in faith as you have been taught. . ."

Colossians 2:9-10 says, "In Him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily. You are complete in Him, who is the Head over all principality and power."

If you are complete in Him, then sin cannot and will not have any dominion or power over you because you live under the grace of God (Romans 6:14).

As you walk in your inheritance in Christ Jesus, you will be free from guilt and condemnation.
