Be a Vessel of Honor

God is calling you to be a golden vessel of honor. 2 Timothy 2:20-22 - In these verses the Apostle Paul tells us that there are vessels of honor and some for dishonor.

God wants us to be vessels of honor sanctified and useful to the Master (Jesus) prepared for every good work.

We are living in an amazing time. It is a time of great spiritual light and at the same time great spiritual darkness.

Christians today have more revelation of God's Word than any other generation that has ever lived, yet the world around us grows more evil every day.

How are we, as believers, to live in the midst of all this evil? God tells us to abstain from even the very appearance of evil - in whatever form or whatever kind it is. Ephesians 4:27 - Give no place to the devil.

1 Thessalonians 5:22 - Abstain from evil. That means do not watch it. Do not feed on it and have nothing to do with it.

1 Thessalonians 5:4-5 says we are children of the light and not children of darkness V6 says be sober.

Colossians 1:13 says we have been translated out of the kingdom of darkness into the kingdom of light.

1 Thessalonians 5:23-24 says, "May the God of peace Himself sanctify you wholly (completely)." Spirit, Soul, and Body.

That means that you are to set yourself apart from the world completely and also the profane things of the world. I John 5:21 Idols.

Paul goes on to say, "That your spirit, soul and body be preserved blameless at the coming of the Lord. He who calls you is faithful who also will "do" it. Jude 24 - Present you faultless. Colossians 1:21-22 - present you Holy and Blameless.

He is calling us to Himself as golden vessels of honor, to separate us from evil and to be completely devoted to Him.

God wants us to be holy. He calls us to be holy. 1 Corinthians 3:16-17 says, "Do you not know that you are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you?" II Corinthians 6:14 V16-17 and II Corinthians 7:1.

Your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit and you are to care for the temple and to keep it holy before the Lord. If you don't take care of it, it will start to deteriorate.

The more a person misuses his body or does destructive things to his body, the more quickly that body will die. This is the spiritual law of sowing and reaping (Galatians 6:7-8).

So, we must keep the temple of our body holy. That means to keep away from evil, destructive forces.

God wants you to be free from your old life. It is your choice to get free. God can set you free no matter what it is.

God is faithful and He is waiting for the opportunity to help you. It all starts with Jesus. When you accept Him you can be set free - John 8:36.

His Word is Truth and His Word will set you free.

Isaiah 55:7 says, "For God will have mercy and abundantly pardon."

God is asking us to draw near to him (James 4:8). He will draw near to you and deliver you. James 4:7 - resist the devil.

He wants us to learn to separate the precious holy things that are His from vile, evil things of the world.

God wants you to do what He says in His Word and walk or live according to His ways, because His ways produce freedom from bondage (Romans 8:2). They produce the best for you (John 10:10).

2 Corinthians 3:17 - His Spirit will produce freedom and liberty in you.

2 Corinthians 3:18 says we are being transformed into His image from glory to glory by the Spirit of the Lord.

2 Corinthians 4:6-7 - This treasure in earthen vessels (our body) is the glory of God - the temple of the Holy Spirit.

It is this temple that must be sanctified and set apart for Him. We will never walk in the fullness of the blessings of God without living a sanctified life. Romans 6:11-14

If you will meet God's conditions, you will also possess His blessings.

We are the ones who decide what kind of vessels we will be. It is our choice. Choose to walk in God's Word.

Hebrews 4:12 says His Word is alive and sharper than any two-edged sward, dividing the intent of the heart.

His Word helps you make right choices.

The Word of God will begin to control what you think, say and do.

Dedicate yourself wholly to God. Isaiah 42:1-2

You were not created to be a vessel of destruction and dishonor, but a very valuable golden vessel of honor!! Ephesians 2:10 - God's workmanship.

The choice is yours!!

Get into the Word of God and study it, memorize it, meditate on it and confess it over your life.

It will set you free and will live a life pleasing of God! Hebrew 11:6.
